1. Does Celebrity remove or install electrical fittings, laundry items etc?
Packing or delivery crews are bound by law to not undertake any installation of electrical fittings. Laundry appliances such as washing and drying machines, dishwashers, etc can be installed provided there are sufficient plumbing, drainage and electrical points in their vicinity.

2. Can Celebrity remove or install my satellite dish?
We will remove satellite dishes if they can be safely accessed. In our Relocation services section we also offer satellite installation by qualified engineers upon request.

3. During the move where will I stay?
Many people book into local hotels or temporary accommodation for either all or part of the packing process. Some prefer to stay at home until loading day, although this is not advisable since packing normally must be finalized the day before loading due to time restrictions with customs. Celebrity takes your comfort into consideration and we will try and make your move run as smoothly and comfortably as possible. We may therefore leave certain areas to be packed on the last day such as bedrooms thus enabling you the comfort of a good night’s sleep. These aspects should be discussed prior to the packing process (preferably during the pre move survey).

4. What to do with things I don’t want to pack?
You can arrange to keep all the items you wish not to be packed in one room if possible. If this is not viable, the use of sticky post it notes can prove very useful in assisting our packing crew. This process is very important and also enables the packing process to take place without delays. Our move coordinator will be happy to assist you with proper indications on packing day.

5. How long will it take you to pack my household effects?
This is dependable upon the volume of items to be packed and items that require special packing. Generally we don’t recommend having too many packers in your home at once, as this may be a very overwhelming experience. Every item we pack needs special care and attention, we call this packing art. We ensure all your items are professionally packed always taking their safe arrival into account. The packing duration can be estimated by the end of your pre-move survey and is mentioned in our quotation.

6. Are the packing materials sent before the packing day?
The packing crew usually delivers packing materials on the first day of your move. However, if you require any materials i.e. cartons for packing your own personal items this can be arranged either via your move manager or the surveyor. It is best if this is requested during the pre move survey.

7. What will I do with all these empty boxes and material after I arrive in my new home?
Certainly after your entire household items are delivered there will be an extreme amount of empty boxes and clutter. We will of course remove all unnecessary packing materials from your home on the day. If you wish to unpack some or all the boxes yourselves you can arrange a suitable time and date with Celebrity to come and collect the remaining debris. Kindly be aware that depending on your contract, there may be an additional charge.

8. What sort of preparation should I do before the move?
Make sure all-important documents or items traveling with you are kept out of the packers’ way. Ensure refrigerators have been emptied of their contents and de-frosted. Washing machines must be drained and securing bolts (if any) fitted. Engines or machinery must be emptied and drained of their fluids. Please check our Celebrity Cares page for more information.

9. How far in advance must I book dates for my removal?
It is advisable that you book your removal a minimum of 1-2 weeks before packing commences. In the busier months such as that of the summer it would be advisable to book your removal approximately 1 month prior thus enabling you to achieve your precise required packing dates.

10. If I want to can I pack my own items?
In most cases you can pack your items. In some countries e.g. the USA this is not permitted. You must inform us at the time of survey of this request and we will happily guide you and if applicable provide you with the necessary packing material and also give you an insight on what items are to be placed in each box as well as helpful packing techniques. Please note that any items packed by you are not covered by the removals insurance incase of damages occurring. In this case it is wise to leave any delicate or fragile items to our professional packing crews.

11. What must I do if I add more items to the initially surveyed goods?
A lot of organization is needed for the smooth and timely performance of your move. It will be wise to immediately notify your move manager since it may cause a change to the price and also it may require that the size of truck or container needs to be changed.

12. What do I do if at time of delivery I notice damages to my household items?
You must initially point this out to the delivery crew foreman or move coordinator at time of delivery. It is advisable that this is documented and signed by yourself and the crew foreman. Therefore we suggest you contact the agent in charge of your delivery that will advise you of the necessary action you must take. You may take photos of any damages occurred that probably will be required by the insurance company. Do not dispose of the damaged items unless advised by the insurance company or your mover.
